🧠 What Are Growth Chess Camps?

Growth Chess Camps are engaging programs designed to introduce children to the game of chess in a fun and educational environment. No prior chess experience is necessary—these camps cater to beginners and seasoned players alike. The focus is on developing critical thinking, patience, and problem-solving skills through interactive lessons and gameplay.

All in-person camps are held at:

🕒 Camp Options & Schedule

In-Person Camps:

  • Full Day: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Half Day AM: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

  • Half Day PM: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

  • Early Drop-off: Available from 8:00 AM

  • Late Pick-up: Available until 5:30 PM

  • Additional Fee: $10 per day for early drop-off or late pick-up

Online Camps: Zoom

  • AM Session (Beginner & Intermediate): 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

  • PM Session (Advanced, 700+ USCF rating): 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

​

Typical Daily Schedule:

  • 8:00 – 8:30 AM: Early Drop-off (optional)

  • 8:30 – 9:30 AM: Arrival and casual games

  • 9:30 – 10:25 AM: Group instruction

  • 10:25 – 10:45 AM: Snack break and recess

  • 10:45 – 11:40 AM: Organized games and puzzles

  • 11:40 – 12:10 PM: Demonstrations and strategy sessions

  • 12:10 – 12:40 PM: Free play until pick-up

  • 12:40 – 1:00 PM: Lunch break (for full-day campers)

Afternoon sessions mirror the morning schedule.

🧩 What Kids Will Do

  • Learn Chess Basics: Understanding how each piece moves and basic rules

  • Solve Puzzles: Enhancing problem-solving skills

  • Play Games: Practicing strategies in a friendly environment

  • Participate in Mini-Tournaments: Applying skills in a fun, competitive setting

  • Socialize: Making new friends with similar interests

📅 Camp Dates

Camps are available weekly from June 16 to August 29, 2025. Each week offers:

  • Half Day AM

  • Half Day PM

  • Full Day

💲 Pricing

Pricing varies based on the selected camp duration:

  • Half Day Sessions: Starting at $200 per week

  • Full Day Sessions: Starting at $300 per week

  • Early Drop-off/Late Pick-up: $10 per day

  • Online Camp: $150 per week
